First 3 Pac for SWAP 2014!

As I mentioned in my last post, my wool skirt is finished and I now have all 3 pieces for my first 3-pac for SWAP 2014; a skirt, blouse and jacket!

This is my TNT skirt pattern and the fabric is a very fine light brown wool which was gifted to me by a wonderful sewing buddy who decided it needed to go to a home where it would be used!

There is not a lot to say about this skirt, it has been made exactly how I make all my skirts -

Waist finished with twill tape and edge stitched.
Hong Kong finish on vent, mitred corner, slip stitched hem and lace on lining
and the complete 3 Pac!!

I have made a toile of Marfy 1913 blouse and will show that as soon as I wash the gelatine out of it.

Very smart outfit! This would cost a fortune in RTW! Beautiful.

These pieces look fantastic together and make an excellent SWAP mini wardrobe. You are your own personal couturier! Great job and beautifully sewn.

Sharon, the elements of your 3 piece ensemble are perfect together. As I went back and read the details of the blouse and jacket, it became clear that your plans for a couture-level outfit have been realized. I'm still amazed that you were able to locate just the most perfect trim for your jacket, and echo that same color in the skirt. That outfit was simply meant to be. Congratulations!

Lovely little top. I love how you don't commit to not buying any fabric. Neither did I, and I called it "stashbusting lite".

Nice skirt and I love the finish on the back vent of the lining. And I still think that your jacket is the nicest Chanel type jacket I've ever seen!

Classic outfit. I really like the jacket and hope to see it face to face soon.

I love the way you've applied the lace to the curved back vent - a much better execution than my unsightly pinked edge. The whole outfit is just perfect.

Congrats on getting your first 3 pac done! It is gorgeous too. Love that jacket - great finish on the skirt too. Must learn that Hong Kong finish.

Sharon, I am constantly impressed with the quality of your sewing and the beautiful fit that you get with your garments. You are definitely someone that I look up to in the sewing world - especially as a short woman. Love your style - you always look so at ease in your garments.

I missed this post - it's so lovely to see inside your garments - a little bit extra really does make a world of difference, and does not really take much more time. Remember the days when everyone used to look inside garments to check they looked good? Even in RTW?
